Founded in 2018, the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) is an international non-governmental organization that operates without profit. 37 global universities, international organizations, and scientific institutes are among the founding members. ANSO seeks to advance more S&T collaboration and communication as well as human lives and well-being on a regional and global scale.

The Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with thirty-six other international science and education organizations from across the world, created ANSO in 2018 as a non-profit, non-governmental international scientific organization. The Chinese “Belt and Road Initiative” promoted the “joint consultation, joint effort, and joint sharing” concepts that led to the creation of ANSO.
