Job Description
The Gates Cambridge Scholarship was established in October 2000 with a $210 million donation from the Bill Gates Foundation (CEO of Microsoft) at the University of Cambridge, England, with the aim of helping students from all over the world study for master’s and doctoral degrees, which is as follows.
The Bill Gates Foundation offers around 80 fully-fee scholarships each year to outstanding applicants from outside the UK to pursue postgraduate studies in any discipline at the University of Cambridge. Approximately two-thirds of these scholarships are awarded to doctoral students, with approximately 25 scholarships for US students and 55 scholarships for international students.

- Having a language certificate required by the university (it will be different according to the course and field)
- Submitting a motivation letter (maximum 3000 characters or 500 words) In this motivation letter you should explain why you are applying for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship and how you meet the four main criteria.

How to choose the scholarship: The Gates Cambridge scholarship selection is done in two stages, which will be as follows
- 1) Selection by the relevant department:
Gates Cambridge requires university departments in Cambridge to nominate a small number of qualified applicants who meet all four scholarship criteria to a very high level. This ensures that those nominated by departments are academically distinguished and likely to succeed as postgraduate students at Cambridge, as well as showing evidence of meeting Gates Cambridge’s selection criteria. A relatively small number of applicants for Gates Cambridge Scholarships are nominated by departments and then invited for interviews.
- 2) Interview:
All candidates nominated by academic departments are invited to a short interview to assess how they meet all four Gates Cambridge criteria. The scholars are then selected after an interview.
