Bakhtar University (BU) is one of Afghanistan’s oldest and most prestigious privately held institutions. It was established in 2005 from a small beginning at Kabul Polytechnic University, through its current location at Kart-e-Char. Bakhtar University is now recognized as being an integral part of the economy in the academia of Afghanistan. BU offers a variety of specialists in postgraduate and undergraduate in the areas of Business, Finance and Information Technology, Law, Political Science, Engineering, and Journalism which are directly linked to the human resource needs of Afghanistan.

Job Summary

The professor’s responsibilities include teaching, developing the curriculum, conducting research, and overseeing the psychological counseling center at the university.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Create teaching materials and handouts for students by utilizing PowerPoint slides and other multimedia resources.
• • Preparing lectures and presenting to students utilizing innovative Technology.
• As a teacher, it is important to keep up with changes in teaching methodology. That’s why I am always working on developing and implementing new methods of teaching to make sure my students get the best education possible.
• • Designing, preparing, and developing teaching materials;
• •  Assessing students’ coursework;
• • Setting and marking examinations papers;
• I engage in personal research projects and make valuable contributions to the institution’s research efforts.
• • Supervising students’ research activities
• • Completing continuous professional development (CPD) and participating in staff training activities;
• As part of the department, I handle administrative tasks like student admissions, induction programs, and participation in committees and boards.
• Attending professional conferences and seminars on behalf of the institution and contributing as needed.
• • Contributing to the development, planning, and implementation of a high-quality curriculum.
• • Drafting and giving periodic tests and final tests and working out a system where all those marks contribute to the final grading.
• •Devising, writing, and producing new materials including audio and visual resources.
• •Working with the rest of the team to decide about the audio-visual material to be taught.
• • Making sure attendance is taken every day and poor attendance is reported to the management.
• • Submitting monthly student progress reports to the Head of Department and Dean of Faculty.
• •Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Faculty.
• Job Requirements

The applicants must have the following qualifications

If you have a Master’s degree and 2 years of experience in a reputable educational institution, or a Ph.D. with at least 1 year of professional experience, you meet the qualifications for this position.

Job Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to identify priorities and work to tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent language proficiency in Dari, Pashto, and English
• Punctual and time management skills.
