Job Responsibility
1. Financial Monitoring: Monitor financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and payments made through the mobile money platform.
2. Financial Reporting:
a. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements and reporting it to Central Bank as per deadline.
b. Monthly mHawala Financial Closing & Finalization of Financial Statements as per IFRS/DAB. Aligning with Etisalat Books & Relevant Reconciliations agreed with Etisalat Accounting Team.
c. To prepare mHawala accurate monthly management reports to the BOM/BOS.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts for the mobile money business, i.e. F1(3+9), F2(6+6), F3(8+4), Annual Budget and 5 year strategic business plan.
4. Compliance:
a. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) requirements.
b. Complying mHawala with Central Bank/FINTRACA Regulations & Documentation on monthly basis as per due date required by regulator. Complying mHawala with MOF / Tax Regulations & Documentation on monthly basis as per due date required by MOF/Tax authority. Ensure Statutory Payments & Filings accurately & within Due Date on monthly basis for mHawala.
5. Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks associated with mobile money operations and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
6. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improving the financial performance of the mobile money business.
7. Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Focal point for external and internal auditors for hawala finance audit.
8. Liaison with Financial Institutions: Maintain relationships with banks and other financial institutions to facilitate smooth financial operations.
9. Reconciliation:
a. Establish and maintain effective bank and mobile money platform reconciliations on daily basis for all elements of the mobile money business.
b. To ensure accurate Bank, Cash, intercompany reconciliations and E-money creation in the TLC system on a required basis during the month. Coordinate changes in the policies and procedures by DAB, AML/CFT, or another regulator on a need basis.
c. Reconciliation of all the revenue drivers with system reports
10. Training and Support: Provide training and support to mobile money agents and other stakeholders on financial procedures and policies.
11. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
