Monbukagakusho Japan Scholarship (MEXT) is one of the best scholarships in Japan, which is held every year by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Physical Education, Science and Technology of Japan (Monbukagakusho) for students interested in studying in Japan. which is as follows.

The purpose of this plan is to cultivate talented people in the field of Iran’s development and the development of friendly relations between Japan and Iran.

Please carefully read the explanations of how to apply and the conditions of the candidates, and if you are eligible, submit the application documents to the embassy by the deadline. In case of non-observance of the regulations in filling the forms, defective documents and delay in sending the documents to the embassy, it is possible to reject the application.

How to register for Japan’s Monbokagakushu scholarship:

  • Scan your documents and send them to the e-mail address [email protected] (the method of sending documents is different from before, so be careful).
  • To be more sure of receiving the applicant’s email by the embassy, it is suggested that the size of your email is less than 10 MB.
  • In the Subject field of your email, enter the words “Monbukagakusho Scholarship Application 2023” and your degree to continue your studies. If you send documents in several separate emails that are less than 10 MB, separate the emails in the Subject section. For example, if you sent your documents in 3 emails, in the subject of the first email, mention 1/3 in addition to the mentioned items, in the second email, in addition to the mentioned items, 2/3, and in the third email, in addition to the mentioned items, mention 3/3.
  • Be sure to send heavy and voluminous files using strong and high-speed internet.
    Prepare a separate PDF file for each document and each file should be named with the English title of the applicant for the necessary documents in the English instructions section along with the name and surname. for example:

  • The format of the files should be Pdf or Word. Avoid sending compressed files like RAR. Sending a ZIP file is unimpeded.
  • After sending the applicant’s documents via e-mail, an automatic email response will be sent from the embassy stating that the applicant’s email has been received. Therefore, do not contact the embassy repeatedly about the arrival or non-delivery of your email.

Note: Dear applicants, please note that due to the numerous problems encountered by the scholarship applicants, since 2015, the documents submitted to the embassy for the scholarship application, even the official translations, will not be returned under any circumstances. Therefore, only provide copies of official translations to the embassy

Attention, dear applicants:

  • Candidates should scan their documents and send them to the mentioned e-mail address.
  • Only people who are accepted in the interview stage should submit their original documents to the embassy.
  • Regarding the official translation of the documents from Farsi to English or Japanese, if the requested documents are not issued in English or Japanese by the high school or university (in the case of those who are students), only the official translation completely in accordance with the original document is acceptable. The Persian version of the documents must be attached along with the official English or Japanese translation. Use Dar al-Tarjemeh to provide correct and accurate official translation. Make sure that the official translation submitted to the embassy has a valid date. For an official translation, only the seal of the judiciary is sufficient, and the seal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not required.
  • Respected applicants should note that due to the numerous problems faced by the scholarship applicants, the documents submitted to the embassy for scholarship applications, even the official translations, will not be returned under any circumstances.
  • The lack of documents that are submitted to the embassy after the appointed time is not acceptable in any way.
  • Do not submit any documents other than the mentioned documents such as translation of birth certificate, translation of national card and any other documents that have not been requested from you. Providing these documents will only waste time and money for the applicant.
  • The questions of the specialized courses of the vocational college are in English.

Frequently asked questions about scholarships and documents

Questions related to medical health form

Question 1: Which doctor should we go to to complete the medical health form?
Answer: To an accredited doctor who has a medical system number. It is worth mentioning that if any violation is found, such as doctor’s certificate being fake before or after being sent to Japan, the exchange will be canceled.

Questions related to additional documents

Question 1: Is it better to present another document or certificate to the embassy in addition to the requested documents?
Answer: Refrain from presenting any documents other than the requested documents. Documents other than the requested documents will not be reviewed and only you, dear applicant, have wasted a significant amount of money on official translations and copies of documents! Therefore, refrain from providing additional documents separately.

Questions related to service exemption

Question 1: Can those eligible for duty system apply for a scholarship?
Answer: Provided that his military service is over by the time he is sent to Japan. In this case, a certificate of end of service should be presented along with other documents.

Questions related to announcing the reason for failure in exams

Question 1: What is the reason for rejecting the applicant?
Answer: The selection criteria of the embassy is the result of exams and interviews and does not announce the reasons for acceptance or rejection of candidates.

Questions related to specialization and acceptable fields

Question 1: What fields can students participate in the scholarship exam?
Answer: Scholarship candidates should be familiar with the names of universities, fields and professors. Candidates, after being accepted in the embassy exams, should contact the professors or universities of their choice and receive an admission form. It is worth mentioning that there is no acceptance of students who were accepted in the first stage but did not manage to find a university in Japan and receive an acceptance letter.

Question 2: My specialty in the bachelor’s degree course is field X, and I want to change my major in the undergraduate course. In this case, is it possible to apply for a scholarship?
Answer: Expertise in Japan and your current expertise should be related. Post-graduate students must have knowledge of the undergraduate level of their field, otherwise they will not be accepted in the entrance exam of the post-graduate course of the university.

Question 1: If I have studied abroad in Iran, can I present my graduation certificate and transcripts issued from that country?
Answer: After the documents are approved and equated by the Ministry of Science, you can submit the above documents to the embassy.

Question 1: How many pages should the study program and thesis summary be presented?
Answer: This form is important for checking the level and limits of candidates’ research and it is checked at every stage of the embassy, Monbukagakushu and university exams. Candidates should clearly explain the topic and research method of their program in Japan with sufficient explanations.
