Job Description

In honor of Lord Weidenfeld’s 95th birthday, the Oxford-Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme was founded in 2015 with the kind contributions of several contributors. With the addition of an extra £9 million in June 2017, Trustee and Chairman André Hoffmann increased the scope of the Oxford-Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme, made possible by matching financing of £6 million from Oxford University.

The Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme cultivates the leaders of tomorrow by providing outstanding university graduates and professionals from developing and emerging economies with the opportunity to pursue fully-funded graduate studies at the University of Oxford, combined with a comprehensive program of leadership development, long-term mentoring, and networking.

The Hualan Education Group and Chevening are two further partnerships that the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust has in addition to the Oxford-Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarship and Leadership Programme. As a component of the university’s Oxford Sanctuary Community for people from displaced backgrounds, the Hope Scholarships are also available. Successful applicants will be transferred to one of the partner universities when accepting the scholarship. The scholarships also benefit from collaborations with many colleges, where each college provides a share of the cash.

How to apply

If you wish to apply for the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Program, it is important that you select this option in the University of Oxford Scholarships section of the graduate application form. Remember to submit your application for graduate study before the deadline specified for your chosen course, which can be found on the relevant course page.

You must also complete a Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarship Statement and upload it, together with your graduate application form, by the deadline.

 

 

We will use the details you insert in the ‘Nationality and ordinary residence’ section of the graduate application form to assess your country of ordinary residence. In order to be considered for this scholarship, applicants must be accepted onto their chosen course by the relevant December or January deadline. Any course applications that are held beyond this deadline, to be re-evaluated against applications received by the March deadline, or those that are placed on a waiting list, will not be eligible for scholarship consideration.

If you are shortlisted for the scholarship, you will be required to participate in an interview, which is likely to be held online in April 2024.
