The FSL Assistant will assist the FSL Officer in implementing the livelihood plans made in accordance with the Save the Children’s BHA grant. The position holder and the livelihood officer will collaborate closely with the project’s beneficiaries to help them enhance their capacities and improve their standard of living.

Role Dimensions: The post holder will establish good working relationships with the rest of Save the Children’s livelihood and child protection staff as well as with community members where the project activities are implemented.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :
The main area of accountability and responsibility of this post is to support the implementation of the livelihood component of the Save the Children’s BAH grant in Balkh provinces.

- Finalize the project sites and project beneficiaries targeting strategy and criteria with the assistance of other project professionals.
- Participate in community-based mobilization and awareness-raising events, and introduce the project’s livelihood component to the target populations.
- Participate in the identification and registration of beneficiaries; be able to choose villages and map the community in order to establish a village committee and give it authority.
- Possess skills and experience in cash-based programming and networking for securing one’s livelihood and access to food.
- Support cash distribution programs and cash transfers in the field for the area’s targeted beneficiaries.
- Assist Save the Children’s procurement staff in acquiring necessary items that will be given to chosen beneficiaries.
- Assist in the execution of the project’s first, midterm, and final evaluations.
- Encourage the execution of the project’s first, midterm, and final evaluations.
- Develop strategies for project execution in conjunction with livelihood officers, the project coordinator, community mobilizers, and MEAL personnel.
- Create project weekly narrative reports and promptly provide them to the livelihood officer.
- Assist joint monitoring visits to the project locations with the government representatives (Provincial/district competent authorities).
- Assist the MEAL staff at Save the Children in creating a thorough project documentation and file system. Observation, Assessment, Accountability, and Learning
- Create and carry out an action plan for quality control.
- Activating and educating communities about the MEAL systems, SCI Child Safeguarding Policies, project objectives, outcomes, and activities.
- Facilitate the dissemination of project and activity information on all occasions, including seminars and training.

QUALIFICATIONS
University degree in development studies, social science, or any other relevant technical credential
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
1-3 years of working experience in FSL project
Familiarity with livelihood programming for returnees and IDPs
Maturity and confidence in dealing with the staff of government institutions, and communities.
Excellent communication (both oral and written) in English and local languages, people skills for conflict resolution and negotiation;
Computer proficiency, especially related to professional office software packages (Microsoft Office);
